Lyn’s career began working with families in crisis within the juvenile justice system and as a Child Advocate – providing custody mediation. This provided a unique skill set which she continues to use as she works with families and facilities to solve difficult issues with unique and individualized solutions.
Lyn’s 25 year career as an administrator in the medical/dental field provided an understanding of medicine and an appreciation for health and wellness issues.
In 2008, she opened Senior Helpers with her husband. In her role as Director of Client Services Lyn established caregiver training curriculum and caregiver management. She reviewed care needs with families and determined care planning and coordination.
Lyn, through her company Daylily, provides educational and consulting assistance for families and facilities regarding topics of healthy aging and dementia care. Lyn conducts CCDI training for facilities within the greater Des Moines area and has presented to the Long Term Care Social Workers of Iowa, the DON Council of Iowa, the Iowa Association of Activity Professionals, and the Hospice & Palliative Care Association of Iowa. She facilitates an Alzheimer’s support group and serves on the Leadership Council of the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Iowa.
